Double honours for RSP at SIA Architectural Design Awards 2021

13 December 2021

We are pleased to share that East Coast Park Rejuvenation and Wilmar International have been conferred Merit awards in this year’s Singapore Institute of Architects’ awards programme.

East Coast Park Rejuvenation: Extending the community into the park

Over the years, sporadic ad-hoc efforts to enhance the park experience were implemented but resulted in an inconsistent identity. A new urban design was then introduced to consolidate the experience, promote wellness and social activities, all while paying homage to the park’s rich history and cultural value. Three nodes, namely, Raintree Cove, Cyclist Park and Coastal PlayGrove, along the 185-hectare park were created as part of the recent enhancement works, which were completed earlier this year. These, aligning with the new urban design, form part of the park’s rejuvenation programme.

Wilmar International: Bringing nature into the office

Set within Jurong Town Corporation’s 500-acre technology quarter in one-north, the new Wilmar International headquarters is a seven-storey commercial development housing offices, research and development spaces and laboratories with two basement levels. The building design draws reference from terraced paddy fields. Expansive, lush green landscape envelopes the terraces at each level to enhance the working spaces internally, offering occupants direct access to fresh air, natural light, and ventilation.

This project is delivered by RSP in collaboration with Eric Parry Architects.
