Seah Chee Kien

Senior Managing Director Singapore

Chee Kien is a senior leader at RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Pte) Ltd (RSP), the group’s corporate headquarter in Singapore. Bringing more than 30 years of experience to the practice, he champions architectural design across the group, and leads the Master Planning division.

He holds that the society is immensely influenced by its spaces, and architects therefore have the responsibility to connect the past, present and future in the surviving milieu. A believer in searching for the right questions to distill the essence and arriving at the right balance, his works reflect how spaces can be used to enrich and uplift the wider communities.

Prior to RSP, he was the Chief Architect at Jurong Consultants, the corporatised arm of JTC Corporation, the lead government agency to spearhead the planning, promotion and development of Singapore’s industrial landscape. He was involved in the development of Singapore’s leading R&D and knowledge hub, One-North’s Fusionopolis and Biopolis clusters. Having a multitude of major projects under his belt such as the iconic ITE College Central; the integrated waterfront development Punggol Watertown & Waterway Point; the largest wood building in Asia, Gaia; Singapore Institute of Technology; the Mandai Wildlife precinct; CapitaSpring; and Altez, Chee Kien is able to bring a holistic design approach that fulfills the needs of the stakeholder and users.

Chee Kien is a Registered Architect, and a member of the Singapore Institute of Architects, Royal Institute of British Architects and the American Institute of Architects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts (Arch Studies) from the National University of Singapore.
