Nakheel Mall & The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm Project

Situated on the world’s largest man-made island, the Palm Tower is a visionary fusion of architecture, hospitality, and retail. Designed by RSP the development seamlessly integrates two distinct yet interconnected components: Nakheel Mall and The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm. This 52-storey architectural landmark was conceived to become a destination in itself, symbolizing the spirit of luxury, cultural identity, and design excellence.

The project was inspired by the cultural and ecological symbolism of the palm tree, a source of sustenance, hospitality, and community across the Gulf for centuries. The tower’s sleek vertical form, crowned by a spectacular summit, pays tribute to the natural elegance of the date palm. From its crystalline façade to its sweeping interiors, every element of the design echoes growth, vitality, and rooted luxury.

Nakheel Mall Dubai

At the base of the development lies Nakheel Mall, a vibrant retail and lifestyle destination that brings year-round activity to Palm Jumeirah. Designed to serve both residents and visitors, the mall features a curated mix of international brands, fine dining outlets, entertainment options, and direct access to the tower above. This integration of high-end retail with hospitality creates a fluid, people-centric environment that caters to Dubai’s dynamic urban life.

The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm

Occupying the lower half of the tower is The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, a five-star hotel that brings together contemporary refinement with timeless elegance. Bringing the classic sophistication of New York’s St. Regis legacy to Dubai. The hotel offers 200 rooms and suites, complemented by a business center, a 500-square-meter meeting space, a grand banquet hall that accommodates up to 280 guests, a wellness-focused spa, and multiple dining venues. The design prioritizes guest convenience, with direct internal access to Nakheel Mall and seamless vertical connectivity throughout the tower.

The Concept

The concept behind the Palm Tower was driven by Nakheel’s ambition to create a new icon for Dubai’s skyline. The brief called for a development that could serve as a destination in its own right, offering luxury hospitality, exclusive residences, retail connectivity, and skyline-defining experiences—all within a single vertical structure. RSP’s response to this vision was rooted in simplicity, elegance, and spatial storytelling. The design process sought to make height not just a technical advantage but an experiential one, ensuring that each level of the building offered something new, surprising, and meaningful.

From the vibrant energy of Nakheel Mall to the refined luxury of The St. Regis, and the striking appeal of Aura Skypool and The View, every element of the project reflects Dubai’s bold ambition and relentless pursuit of excellence. Since its opening in 2021, the landmark has consistently drawn high visitor numbers, clear proof of its lasting appeal.

The St. Regis Residences

Above the hotel floors, luxury serviced residences form the tower’s upper levels, offering panoramic views across the Arabian Gulf, Dubai Marina, and the Palm itself. Each residence has been carefully planned to maximize light, space, and connection to the skyline. Residents enjoy exclusive access to the building’s podium-level amenities and the full range of services offered by The St. Regis, elevating everyday life into a resort-inspired experience.

Architectural Vision

“Because of its location on The Palm, we were greatly inspired by the island structure and used the reference of a palm tree for the design of the tower,” says Michael Magill, Managing Director, RSP Dubai.

The palm leaf is integrated into the design balancing the architectural icon with its surrounding. Inspired by the surrounding environment, using the palm leaf the design team perfectly crafted this fluid, graceful structure. The verdant green walls and budding gardens effectively complement the overarching inspiration of the palm tree.

Dining At the Top

Above Aura, on Level 51, is SUSHISAMBA, a vibrant dining experience that blends Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian cuisines. With a dramatic double-height space and floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant offers a culinary journey that is as visual as it is flavorful. The atmosphere is energetic yet refined, perfect for both celebration and intimate evenings.

The View At The Palm

As the tower stands at an impressive 52 stories, we had the unique opportunity to create an experience like never before. At the very top of the tower we had the opportunity to create a 180m viewing deck that provides a truly unique viewing experience of the entire Palm Jumeirah (without jumping out of a plane). “This is the only place in the world that offers a bird’s-eye view of The Palm Island,” Michael says in relation to The View on the 52nd floor, at Nakheel Mall Palm Jumeriah.

The journey concludes at Level 52 with The View at The Palm, a dedicated public observation deck located 240 meters above sea level. Accessible via Nakheel Mall, the experience includes a multimedia exhibition that chronicles the story behind Palm Jumeirah’s creation and impact, followed by a lift ride that brings guests to one of the highest vantage points in the city. The View offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramas, making it a must-visit attraction for both tourists and residents.

Aura Skypool

At the pinnacle of the Palm Tower lies its most extraordinary feature, Aura Skypool. Situated on Level 50, Aura is the world’s highest 360-degree infinity pool. Suspended 200 meters in the air, the design wraps around all four sides of the tower, offering uninterrupted views of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks including the Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and Ain Dubai. Due to the project’s location, we wanted a feature that would maximise the view potential for guests, while prioritizing sensory immersion.

Aura Skypool has quickly become one of Dubai’s most talked-about destinations. It features a dedicated lounge and bar, offering light dining and bespoke cocktails with a backdrop that changes with the time of day, from sunrise reflections to golden-hour glow and glittering nightscapes, there is always a different experience to be had. Aura Skypool has become a design triumph and a powerful cultural touchpoint for Dubai’s hospitality scene, winning numerous awards since it’s debut.
